Dr. Tara Anglim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Advanced Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care who has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and families affected by serious and advancing illness or disabilities. As a leader in social work and healthcare, her interdisciplinary collaborations drive innovation and solutions to break down barriers and inequity within traditional healthcare models. She currently serves as the Associate Executive Director of Culture and Experience at Peconic Bay Medical Center – Northwell Health where her advocacy and interdisciplinary efforts have been pivotal in promoting person and family-centered care, leading to significant achievements such as the hospital’s first Joint Commission Palliative Care Certification, the established community education on Goals of Care, MOLST, and the 4Ms framework, and in 2018, opening Long Island’s first hospital-based Caregivers Center, providing access to support, education, and resources to family caregivers. She serves on various state and local committees and councils, advocating for the needs of family caregivers in policy, research, funding, and community outreach. Dr. Anglim earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Molloy College, a Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University, and a Doctorate of Education from Molloy University, where her dissertation research examined family caregivers’ experiences within the healthcare continuum.
